It’s easy to join virtual
Cardinal Airlines! However, before applying, you should be aware that we do have strict time and performance requirements. If you feel that you are a competent and proficient Pilot, you are welcome to submit a video checkride to our Check Pilots, but it must be submitted within 10 days. If you are just starting out and would like to attend our Flight School, you will have the opportunity to learn virtual flying properly, working with an experienced Instructor Pilot. But your lessons must be performed in a timely manner.If you are serious about a virtual flying career, and are willing to work at it, please apply. If you are not sure or you are not willing to work at becoming a Flight Officer with Cardinal, there are many alternative Virtual Airlines that you can join without having to work at it. If you are still interested, be sure and peruse the Training Lessons found under "Training" prior to sending in your application. Option No. 1: Unless you are a graduate of Cardinal’s Flight School or Steve's Flight School it is recommended that you join our flight training school where you will be guided by an instructor through eight lessons. Upon successfully completing the school you will be promoted to the rank of Flight Officer and assigned to your station. Just fill in the application below and note that you desire to attend Flight School. You will be contacted shortly with further information. The link for Cardinal’s Flight School is on the main menu under Personnel and you may wish to familiarize yourself with our training program. Contact our Training Director if you require further information. Option 2: There is an alternative if you do not wish to attend Flight School. You may take the Flight Officer check-ride which is the last lesson in the Flight School series (Lesson No. 8). If you pass the check-ride you will be promoted to Flight Officer and assigned a CAL Pilot number and assigned to a station of your choice. If you fail the check-ride then you must attend flight school. Regardless of which option you choose, if you have previous experience with another virtual airline and wish to transfer the hours you have accumulated with that airline, please furnish us with the URL and information on how we may access your flight record. In lieu of the record you may furnish us with the name of an officer or individual of your previous airline whom we may contact to certify your time. Once that information has been obtained and you have passed lesson 8, you will be assigned your CAL Pilot number and assigned to the station of your choice. You will also be required to take a written test and a check-ride commensurate with your expertise in order to qualify for your rank with Cardinal that would be other than Flight Officer. Important Notice Once you have notified the Director of Training or Chief Pilot of your intention to enter the Flight School, you MUST initiate your first lesson with 10 days of your application and notify the Chief Pilot that you have begun your training. Failure to do this will result in your being dismissed and dropped from the roster.

Important information concerning membership and commitment To fully participate in the Cardinal Airline experience you should be aware of and comply with the following: First, you must recognize that flying with Cardinal Airlines is not a game like Quake III or Half Life. You should at least have read your Flight Simulator manual and be familiar with concepts of flight and navigation. Second, you must understand that flight simulation requires fairly current hardware. The minimum recommendation for FS2K is an AMD or PIII 500 Mhz machine with 128 megs of ram and a decent 3D video card. FS98 can be operated on machines with less power with 400 Mhz being a fairly middle of the road choice. You also have to own a copy of the sim. That being said, we expect you to fly at least two hours every thirty days and join in with the other pilots for the exceptional fun we enjoy as the premier virtual airline. If you agree to this, we welcome you to Cardinal Airlines! We take great pride in the fact that our pilots are all actively engaged in simulation flying and that we have the most proficient pilots in the virtual airline arena. As a new pilot with Cardinal you have two options and the option you choose should be based on your experience level and not necessarily the number of flight hours you have accumulated.

Your Privacy... At virtual Cardinal Airlines, we're flight simmers, not businessmen, and your privacy is a major concern to us. We will never sell or divulge your email or other personal information to anyone for any reason. Your loyalty as a Cardinal Airlines pilot is worth much more to us than the few dollars we could make by selling your information to commercial entities. We do, however, print your home location and an email link to you in our roster. The roster is printed "on the fly" from our database by CGI script. Your personal information does not reside on a web page where web crawlers may discover them and SPAM you with unwanted advertisements. We feel this is the best balance to allow other pilots to contact you but afford protection of your privacy. Best regards, President
